Nightmare

We were in a dark low ceiling hallway, naked lights with no shade. I knew you were coming to join me in the kitchen. The kitchen was all dark wood panels and speckled floor tiles. I just remember calling out saying that the rice is ready, the lights flicker. I get frustrated and annoyed at first then I can’t see the rice so I feel like it burning.
The gas stove is still on so I can see a small circle around the flames. Then the gas switches off.
My arms get pulled and pushed behind me and I am dragged by a body, definitely male, maybe not fully human, down the dark corridor.
I yell out to warn you to scream. I desperately want to wake up because I know you’ll be safe if I wake up. But I don’t wake up. I can’t wake up. There is just dark wood and my screams falling silent on the empty hallway.
It feels like I am pushing against heavy air, fighting the invisible hands.

Suddenly I do wake up but I am in my cold bed, the sheets are drenched with sweat and I am gasping for air. I can only assume I woke up from my yelling. I am shaking, my hands don’t work. You aren’t there.
